Upcoming Meeting Details

Meeting Date: May 19, 2014

IEEE West Michigan Consultant's Network
Monday, May 19, 2014 Meeting Announcement

Greetings!

Our next meeting is three weeks away on Monday, May 19th. I am pleased to welcome Mr. Russell Greenwood of National Instruments as our guest speaker. Russ is the local National Instruments field engineer for western Michigan. Russ holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University. Before moving to Michigan as a field engineer, Russ worked as an applications engineer at National Instruments headquarters in Austin, Texas. For the last 8 years, Russ has worked with a variety of engineers in West Michigan to help ensure their success using National Instruments tools.

National Instruments is perhaps best known as 'the LabVIEW software company', but National Instruments also has a system level technology called the 'LabVIEW RIO architecture'. This technology provides a high-level system design experience for engineers and scientists developing embedded, RF, control or data acquisition applications. Russ will give an overview of the LabVIEW RIO architecture, along with discussing some of the new technologies NI is working on to help engineers and scientists accelerate their productivity and innovation.

The format for this meeting is going to be a bit different than in the past in order to provide more time to network. Also the section is going to provide dinner!

Dinner and Meeting at DornerWorks - www.DornerWorks.com (NW corner of Lake Eastbrook Blvd & Camelot)
6:30pm - Dinner (pizza or sandwiches; suggestions welcome)
7:15pm - Meeting

Please respond to this email with an RSVP if you would like to attend the dinner portion, but feel free to show up last minute for the presentation too.

Thank you,
Otto Muller
IEEE WMCN Co-Chair
